Artist's Comments

I hope deviantART isn't going to be a shit and do the whole thing where it makes dark parts of my images darker than they are.

anyway. It's a crocodile. He deserves a monocle, because he is badass like that.

I'm too lazy to credit the photo I drew this from and I don't care if I get yelled at for it.

Solid drawing. I like your style.

Also to note, deviantART doesn't do anything to image brightness or contrast -- that's the lack of your color calibration between your programs.

You should totally give it a monocle. In fact, give it two monocles.

I love the complementary use of orange and blue in the background. Tis one of my favourite colour combinations. (LawlBritSpelling)

Thank you.

Hm, interesting. Didn't know that.

Haha I would love to give it a monocle, but I'd be afraid to ruin it. And I couldn't possibly give it two, because then it'd be like glasses with no rims.

If you're using Photoshop, it comes with a calibration tool. As does many graphics drivers and monitors. Takes some effort, but once you get there, things are especially consistent.

Ah yeah, I do use Photoshop. How would I set the calibration tool so the image matches what it looks like once posted?

Edit > Color Settings. That's the basic color profile portion, which is probably where things are messing up.

Then go to your control panel and choose "Adobe Gamma" and set it.

Then right click on the desktop and go to properties. Then click the Settings tab. Then look around for any calibration information there.

Then on your monitor, you may have an option to choose a color temperature. Make sure this color temperature matches your calibration.

Psh, not glasses with two rims! :[ It's twice the classiness, yo. But yeah, I wouldn't want you to ruin it for good. Of course, there is photoshop magiks.
